Chianciano Evo Oil and Montepulciano Wine Tour Shore Excursion from Civitavecchia Port

Pick up and drop off will be at the port of Civitavecchia, right outside the ship.

The tour will start with pick up from the port of Civitavecchia. An English speaking driver with a private minivan will be waiting for you right outside the ship, holding a sign with your name on to be easily recognized. He will be with you during the entire day, even if he’s not allowed to walk with you around the small towns once you reach them. He will still be able to give you information on what you’re going to visit, and since the tour is private you’ll be able to customize the itinerary.

Meeting with your private driver and departure towards the Southern part of Tuscany, Chianciano and Montepulciano.

In Chianciano you will meet your expert local guide, touring to taste the Extra Pure Olive Oil and learn about the "streap" technique!

In 15 minutes we will be in Montepulciano, shopping in the Medioeval scented village and discovering its Noble Wines!

Drink inside the ancient cathedral of a noble family and taste the best chocolate paring!

Montepulciano:

Montepulciano is a medieval and Renaissance hill town that is located not too far from Siena. It is a major producer of food and drink. Renowned for its pork, cheese, "pici" pasta, lentils, and honey, it is known world-wide for its wine. Connoisseurs consider its Vino Nobile, which should not be confused with varietal wine merely made from the Montepulciano grape, among Italy's best. A visit of Montepulciano can’t be complete without the possibility to taste some local wine.

At the end of the tour the driver will take you back to the port of Civitavecchia, leaving you outside your ship.

The tour will be a total of 9 hours from pick up to drop off. Suggested pick up is at 7:30 am.
