Our guide was Luca, he met us promptly at the Royal Caribbean port. We had asked him to take us to the LDS Rome temple, which was not on the usual tour as listed. We loved it and then proceeded to the sights in Rome. Luca was truly amazing to get us close to the various sight we wanted to see. He is extremely knowledgeable in Roman history and made our trip exceptional. there were 4 of us. We could have spent a week with him and learned so much, but we only had a day and he was patient and perfect in every way. I would highly recommend him. Thank you, Luca

Very effective way to see the city with a safe and well informed driver. Very flexible to do our own sightseeing.

Nice tour for us, picked us up at the conclusion of our cruise. We took luggage with us in van as we took a oh so short tour of Rome. If we were going here again, would give us more time in Rome, just not enough time to do it right. Driver was excellent and took us to multiple spots for photos. We did the skip the line Vatican tour which was valuable and good. Driver took us to get the skip the line tickets and join a group tourno way we could have done this tour in the time we had without a guide....cost was 55euros per person, so add this into your costs Driver dropped us at our hotel at end of tour, so we saved a transfer doing it this way. My biggest suggestion to any considering this is to give yourself more time in Rome, so much to see and oh so many people there!

Luca picked us on time and in a Mercedes minivan. From the time he picked us up he made us feel engaged and comfortable. He had a great sense of humour and gave us great insights along the way. The spots he took us to were the best of the best. He knew where to park to minimize walking and gave us a great tips. For lunch he took us to a great spot and ordered ahead - a great family run restaurant with authentic food at reasonable prices. Luca also bought tickets in advance for us for the Collisium. He navigated us past the vast crowds right to the security check point to get us in ASAP. The tour gave us us the right amount of time in each sight. He was a fantastic guide. He left the sights totally up to us and was very flexible. Whatever we wanted. I would highly recommend this tour and in particular Luca. Thanks Luca for showing me and my family Rome. We will always remember it. Steve.

We met with our driver and guide, Carlo, immediately as we left the ship. The vehicle was clean and tidy plus it had the baby seat we requested. We felt like his guests immediately, his English was good as was his sense of humour. We felt safe in his company, both in Rome and during the drive to and from Rome. He was obviously proud of his city and had excellent knowledge of the area and best vantage points. If the other viator drivers/guides are half as good as Carlo you will not be disappointed. We can definitely recommend the self proclaimed second best driver/guide in Rome, Carlo. Thank you for making our day in Rome so enjoyable and for ensuring we saw all the sights we needed to.

Our guide made the difference on this tour. My wife has limited mobility so we didn't want any tour that required oodles of walking. After considering the cost of a bus transfer from the port to Rome, and hop-on, hop-off bus in Rome, we found this tour cost only about twice as much which for us was well worth it. Our driver Claudiu met us right across the street from the port exit near all the official tours. He had a late model Mercedes sedan with a spacious back seat. He gave us bottled water and asked what we were interested in seeing. I told him we'd bought skip the line tickets to the Vatican museum as we wanted to see the Sistine Chapel, but that we also wanted to spend a few hours seeing Rome. I could tell he was a little disappointed we'd be cutting short his chance to show us the city. He dropped us right at the museum meeting point and asked us to call when we were ready to pick up. Turns out the museum was a zoo, so we did little else except see the chapel. Related note about the museum: I figured we would rent a wheelchair and put down a cash deposit. They actually required you leave behind your passport, which I wasn't carrying due to safety concerns. Our agent who met us with the tickets had a long talk with the rental agent and he agreed to keep the photocopy of my passport I was carrying. The chapel was amazing, but required me pushing the wheelchair what seemed like a mile! Afterward, we called Claudiu and told him we'd be eating lunch at a coffee shop across the street. He showed up in 15 minutes and told us where he was parking and asked us to enjoy our lunch. We caught up with him and he took us on a great driving tour of the high points that we wanted to see as first time visitors. The Coleseum, the Trevi Fountain etc. He always found a spot to park near the points we wanted to get out and walk a little bit. His driving skills were impressive, he took us down streets and alleys I didn't think the car would fit in. He got us back to the ship with time to spare but not TOO much time! He was gracious, and his love of Rome and knowledge about it was clear.

If you really want to get a sense of the city and an understanding of what you're seeing, then don't take this tour. It's basically a driver who drops you off for an hour here and another hour there. An hour to eat lunch somewhere and I'm not sure what he does in all that time. Also, we had just 5 people in our group. One gentleman was from another cruise ship and he had to be back at 4:00 pm at the port. So basically we arrived in Rome at 9:45 am, first stop the Colosseum and were forced to leave Rome at 3:15 because he had to be back!!! That's ridiculous! This was suppose to be an 8 hour full day tour. It's a rip off. People that have to be back at the same time should be grouped together, We easily could of stayed till 4:30 in Rome taking our time. Instead we took 10 minute photos at the Vatican and had to leave. Very dissapointed VIATOR!!! I've used you before but this tour was terrible.

Valerio was wonderful. He was willing to stop for any needs we had buy something along the route, restroom, etc. He made a recommendation and took us to a great moderately priced true Italian restaurant for lunch. He basically would go and/or do whatever we wanted to do as a group of 4. Lines to get inside the Vatican or museum or Colosseum were several hours long, so to be able to go to these and go inside of all is impossible in 8 hours. Highly recommend the tour and Valerio!!!
