Colosseum at Night Small Group Tour

On this small group tour you will experience the Colosseum at night away from the busy crowds during the day. You will visit the usually restricted areas such as the arena stage and the dark undergrounds whilst your experienced local guide provides information about the history. The tour will start near Piazza Venezia where you will talk about the Capitolium Hill and Vittoriano before walking towards the Colosseum. At the Colosseum general admission will already be closed and you will enter via a special gate to the arena floor, just as gladiators did 2,000 years ago. Your guide will tell stories and facts about the Colosseum which will bring the surroundings to life. From the arena floor you will then head into the dungeons, where animals and gladiators awaited their turn to fight. You will learn about the complex system of tunnels, cages, lifts and even trap-doors that were used to transport the animals and gladiators to the arena floor.
