About this activity
Meet the guide outside the Metro station "Colosseo" 10 minutes before the tour departure time.

The guide will be at the meeting point holding a sign with your name.

Walk in 2 minutes to the entrance of the Colosseum where you will need to wait in (a priority) line few minutes in order to walk through the metal detector for a security check.

Follow your guide directly to the tickets reader and enter the Colosseum (skipping the endless line at the tickets desk!).

Climb the ancient stairs to reach the Colosseum second level, where you can take amazing pictures of the arena from the top. Your guide will tell you everything about the Colosseum building, the gladiators and their training, the animal huntings and the men-to-men fights, the public executions and the thumb-up thumb-down story. The guide will use printed riconstructions in order to make you fully understand how a day at the Colosseum was going on.

Reach the Colosseum ground level for a look at the ancient toilets and more amazing views of the monument.

Leave the Colosseum and walk beside the incredible Arch of Constantine. Here you will learn about Constantine, his wars, his visions and his revolutionary edict: the legalization of Christianity in the Roman Empire.

Follow the guide to the entrance of the Roman Forum and skip the normal security chek line using the priority entrance reserved to the licensed guides.

Walk beside the Arch of Titus and listen to the sad story of how Gerusalem was destroyed and looted by the Roman legions (a picture of the Jewish Menorah inside the Arch will remind you the events).

Walk along the Via Sacra and visualize the most amazing, noisy, multicultural, dynamic marketplace of the ancient world.

The Basilica of Constantine, something like the Supreme Court of Rome with all its trials and condemns.

The Temple of the Vestal Virgins, with its sacred fire and the six super famous priestesses in charge with making it eternally burning.

The Temple of Antoninus with its imposing colums.

The Roman Forum square, the beating heart of the Roman Empire, with its political meeting.

The Temple of Julius Ceasar, where the body of the great general was cremated after hia murdering during the Ides of March.

The Roman Senate, still incredibly standing after more than 2000 years to remind the glory of the Roman Senators and the Caesars.

And then the view all around you, with the ruins of the ancient State Archive (the Tabularium), the Capitoline Hill temples, the Emperors' Palace and many other unbelievable monuments.

One of the most unforgettable places of the world, the Roman Forum is also one of those areas that absolutely need an expert guide to be appreciated.

At the end of the tour you can remain in the archaeological area until the closure time (if you want).
