About this activity
David Statue at the Accademia
The most famous statue in Florence, and probably the world, Michelangelo's David stands at an imposing fourteen feet tall. Carved between 1501 and 1504, Michelangelo was only 26 years old when he created this masterpiece. Behind the Uffizi Gallery, the Accademia Gallery is the second most visited museum in Florence. If you go it alone, this means that long lines are likely. However, if you join us on this Florence in a day tour from Rome, we provide you with skip the line Accademia tickets.
As an accredited tour operator, we don't have to wait in a long ticket line. After the quick security line, breeze right on inside. Short delays at the security check may occur during the busiest months, June and July. However, our team of experts works to prevent delays as much as possible.
Florence Duomo from the Outside
Did you know that the Italian word "duomo" doesn't actually mean "dome"? Contrary to belief, a duomo refers to the principle church or cathedral in a city or town. From outside, admire the incredible cathedral and magnificent Renaissance dome designed by Filippo Brunelleschi himself. Then, get a glimpse of the bronze Baptistry Doors. See why these doors earned the nickname of the "Gates of Paradise".
The Old Bridge - Ponte Vecchio
The "Old Bridge", or Ponte Vecchio is home to dozens of built-in shops. The Vasari Corridor connects the Palazzo Vecchio with the Palazzo Pitti across the bridge. In this elevated corridor, the Medici Family moved between their house and the palace. With the addition of the Vasari Corridor, the butchers and tanners who plied their wares on the bridge were evicted. In their place, Jewelers took over. You can still shop for jewelry on Ponte Vecchio.
After you've finished your day in Florence, it’s time to say arrivederci to your guide and fellow travelers. Your attendant will lead the group back to the train station and you'll return to Rome via high-speed rail.
