Not once, but twice, when we got to Florence, the tour guide, in front of everyone else on the tour, made me and my party feel embarrassed by reminding us that we had not opted to each pay 65 more Euros for her guided tour and lunch. We thought it was very unprofessional of her and that her sales technique left a lot to be desired.
This is a great trip to Florence and Pisa. Although our driver was new, he was fast, courteous and friendly even with no English, yet he was able to communicate a thing or two, good enough for us to understand. In Florence, we have to go on a guided tour up the Duomo, and in Pisa, our driver patiently waited for us as we stroll the Leaning Tower of Pisa and its surrounding area. Coming back to Rome, our driver took us through the coastal highway, a beautiful part of Italy with famous Tuscan sun. This trip is worth it, and very affordable. You can get away with a group tour and do it your own. We didn't have to pay in Pisa unless you want to go up the tower and brave the long line.
They stressed me out a bit since they kept calling me to ask if I can re-schedule and i kept telling them I could not. They did not provide confirmation either although I kept calling till late afternoon on day before trip. However, the trip itself was fabulous. The driver was very polite and nice, gave us a lot of good history and information. We got plenty of time at Pisa and at Florence to do both museums and sights.
Our driver and guide Andrea was excellent, we had enough time roaming Florence and seeing the leaning tower of Pisa.
This tour is really not worth it. Out of 13.5 hours, we spent 8-9 hours on the road. We’re told to top up €65/person for lunch and guided tour. Lunch was too salty and “guided tour” of Pisa was at the entrance for 5 mins, info I could’ve gotten from Wiki. Driver sped back to Rome. Not recommended!
Excellent tour. Andrea was a very knowledgeable driver and guide, and made sure his six passengers were safe and comfortable. He exchanged phone numbers with us in case anyone needed assistance. And the sites! Every bit as magnificent as expected! The Baptistery, Duomo, and Pisa were wonderful!
Great way to enjoy a city when you are pressed for time. Driver was courteous and prompt. Quite knowledgeable and helpful. Car was clean and driver was skillful.
