This tour was ot worth the cost. Although the group was perhaps 20 people, it was one of quite literally hundreds of other groups in the Vatican complex at that time. In my experience, this made the visit no less crowded than going on my own, during the usual opening times, when I could actually linger over what I wanted to see. Our group was one of the very last to go in, and then people had to get water, and go to the bathroom, and go to the souvenir stand, and in general couldn't seem to get themselves in order, so the tour did not begin at the time stated and was, in the end, much less than the stated three hours toal. Our guide should have controlled the group better to get us in and seeing things I did not pay money to watch others buy guidebooks or take a bathroom break. The guide knew basic facts but also spread some misconceptions and I found that incredibly frustrating and irresponsible. We spent perhaps five minutes in the Sistine Chapel, crowded up against hundreds and hundreds of other travellers, and it was impossible to enjoy anything. When these evening tours began they let in fewer groups at a time and it truly was worth the price. That is definitely no longer the case. You would be better off going mid-afternoon, mid-week this was just not as advertised at all.
