About this activity
In the morning you will visit one of the richest private art collections in the world, the Borghese Gallery with masterpieces by artists such as Raphael, Caravaggio, Titian, Bernini as well as Canova’s world-famous sculpture of Pauline Bonaparte. The tour continues with a pleasant stroll through the Borghese Park and the Pincio Terrace, with its beautiful view of Piazza del Popolo. Walking the panoramic Pincio promenade to Trinità dei Monti and, descending the legendary Spanish Steps, you reach the elegant Piazza di Spagna.
You will then be transferred to the restaurant for a delicious lunch, followed by a visit to the Vatican Museums, one of the most important art collections in the world and the Sistine Chapel, with the breathtaking frescos by Michelangelo. From the Museum, you will directly enter St. Peter’s Basilica to admire, among others, Michelangelo’s masterpiece La Pietà and the impressive Baldachin Altar by Bernini. The tour ends in St. Peter’s Square, with Bernini’s famous double Colonnade.
IMPORTANT: The Museum requires that wheelchair bound clients follow a different itinerary and aren’t allowed to join our regular tour.It is not permitted to enter Churches in shorts, uncovered shoulders, miniskirts. It’s forbidden to bring into Museum metal objects, backpacks, umbrellas. Should St. Peter’s Basilica be closed for religious ceremonies, the tour will instead include the visit of Raphael’s rooms.
