Full-Day Tour of Rome, Colosseum and the Vatican with Gladiator Photo Shoot!

Your small group Rome and Vatican tour begins in the morning. Meet up with a friendly, professional guide at a designated meeting spot in Rome’s ancient city. The first stop will be at the famous Colosseum, formerly home to violent gladiator fights and captives. Learn about this unique history and then travel up Via Sacra to the Roman Forum to get a glimpse of life during the reign of dictator Gaius Julius Caesar and Emperor Nero Claudius Caesar Augustus Germanicus. Listen as the guide explains the rapid growth of the Roman Empire and its eventual demise.

Next, head to the famously lucky Trevi fountain (recently restored by Fendi), the most popular fountain in Rome and thanks to Hollywood greats such as Audrey Hepburn, Gregory Peck and Anita Ekberg. Stroll over to the Pantheon and view this magnificent ancient pagan temple from outside while your guide enthralls you with the mind blowing architectural genius and the inscriptions on this ancient masterpiece. Walk a few short steps further and arrive at Piazza Navona, the Circus of Domitian in antiquity where the fierce rivals Gian Lorenzo Bernini (Fountain of the Four Rivers) and Francesco Borromini (Church of St Agnes in Agony) clashed through their representations of Baroque art. Now the square is populated by street artists, actors and small markets, making it a fun place to stop and rest.

Make your way across the city and meet at our office for your tour of the Vatican. While waiting for your tour departure, don some of our shields, helmets and swords and take some fun pictures of yourselves and your travel partners against our Gladiator arena backdrop. After your photo shoot and a few good laughs, you guide will lead you out the door and directly into the Vatican Museums with priority entrance.
The Vatican visit includes the Pio-Clementine Museum, Room of the Muses, Round Room, Greek Cross Room, Gallery of Tapestries, Gallery of Maps, Raphael's Rooms and Sistine Chapel. From the Sistine Chapel you will have direct access to St. Peter's Basilica where your guide will leave you to explore on your own before exiting. to St. Peter's Square.
