We took multiple trips with Viator on our 12 day cruise vacation. This was probably the least successful. Most all of the others were outstanding. In this case, we had about 18 people and it was difficult to understand the guide. There didn't seem to be a very good plan or overview of the area. We toured Palatine Hill and looked out at the Forum briefly before going to the Colosseum. There was a lot of time just standing around, waiting for "something". The guide would walk ahead, leaving the group to trail behind and if you didn't ask questions, you really didn't get a lot of explanations of what we were seeing, nor could we hear her most of the time. Thrilling to be in Rome, surrounded by so much history but the explanations left a lot to be desired. Our group was 7 out of the total and we and others left the tour before it was finished to go on our own as it seemed a lot easier than standing around in the hot sun.
