Each summer, when daytime temperatures can reach unbearable levels, the Vatican Museums opens its doors once a week on Fridays after official opening hours. Take advantage of this unique opportunity to experience the Museums in the comfortably cooler evening and join this small-group of 20 people or less which also includes a classical music concert (select Fridays).

Access is limited to pre-booked guests only, and using our pre-reserved entrance we'll gain access to the Vatican Museums well after official opening hours, when twilight casts a golden glow over the Museums which have been especially lit for this occasion. Once inside, your charismatic English-speaking guide will adjust your itinerary perfectly to include all of the highlights, making it to the Pinecone courtyard just in time to catch the classic music concert which only goes on select Fridays.

Experience the Sistine Chapel in the less-crowded evening and discover the Upper Galleries of the Vatican Museums including the Gallery of the Tapestries and Candelabra, the Hall of the Maps, the Octagonal Court, and Raphael’s Rooms. You won't miss a single important stop.

Wow is just the only term that comes to mind after the tour we had last Friday night. After a little miscommunication about the meeting place we met Luciano, our well informed and enthusiastic guide just outside the museums. As it turned out we were the only participants of the tour so we had our own private guide! As we visited the Vatican gardens earlier in the day, we had a good impression how crowded the entrance and museums can be. Compared to that the evening is extinct! There was no line at the security check so we could walk right in. We were guided to the Pinecone courtyard where the buffet and concert were going on. The food was delicious and we could take our time. After this we had about 2 hours before closing time. Luciano guided us through the museums and at some moments we had a Gallery for ourselves! The only more or less crowded room was the Sistine Chapel. Luciano could answer every silly question we could fire at him and because he knew most of the guards he could arrange for us to shoot very beautiful pictures from out of the windows. At closing time we were one of the last people to leave the Sistine Chapel. Once we were outside again, Luciano surprised us with a small gift. All in all this was a night we will not soon forget!
