Marvel at the mighty Colosseum and learn the history of the Roman emperors and gladiators. See the remains of the most important temples of the imperial age at the Roman Forum. Continue to Piazza Venezia to gaze in awe at the monumental Altare della Patria.
Head to the Baroque fountain in the Trevi
rione (district) and hear the legend about how if you toss a coin in the Trevi Fountain you will return to Rome! Continue to the Pantheon to admire the best-preserved monument from Ancient Rome. Then, marvel at the glorious buildings and fountains on Piazza Navona.
Continue to the Castel Sant'Angelo (also known as the Mausoleum of Hadrian), and walk down to St. Peter's Square in front of the most famous cathedral in the world.
