Following pick up from your central hotel in Rome (bus departs between 6:30 am – 7:30 am), travel by bus to Naples. The journey takes about 3 hours. Upon arrival at Naples, start with a panoramic tour by bus of this enchanting city in the Mediterranean that will lead you up to Vomero Hill. The town overlooks the bay of Naples which extends from the Sorrento peninsula, and the skyline is dominated by the majestic and still active volcano Vesuvius, offering an impressive sight perfect to take stunning pictures.

Descending towards the port of Mergellina, and after a short walk along the picturesque coast road, travel south toward Mount Vesuvius to reach the town of Ercolano. Stop for lunch at a restaurant in Herculaneum, which according to legend was founded by Hercules. It is situated in a marvelous environment and surrounded by wonderful gardens dating back to 1700.

After lunch, head on to Pompeii, one of the most important archaeological sites in Europe and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Learn how the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD destroyed the city, killing its inhabitants and burying it under tons of ash. The site was buried for about 1,500 years until its rediscovery. The remains and ruins beneath the city have been well-preserved for centuries. Walk along the ancient streets for a glimpse into the lives of the Romans, discovering ancient houses, bakeries and shops. The tour ends with the transfer by bus back to your hotel or a nearby area.
