Over 10.000 shrubs, rare plants and flowering trees from all over the world grow among the mediaeval ruins, while the river Ninfa forms a lake in the garden. There are 2000 plant species from all over the world brought together and they thrive in Ninfa’s protected microclimate. A mix of nature and history where with our guide you can immerse yourself in a tranquil garden framed by the city’s classical ruins. Since its origins, when the Romans built the Temple of the Naiad Nymphs, till the 19th century when it was transformed in a romantic English garden, the Garden of Ninfa has always been a magic place, that continues to fascinate its visitors.
The Giardino di Ninfa, is truly a paradise of flowers, water and sunlight, a splendid example of poetry and mediaeval architecture located at the foot of the Lepini mountains in the province of Latina. Visitors are thrown into an unpolluted environment where many writers, such as Virgina Woolf, Truman Capote, Ungaretti, and Moravia, found inspiration for their creations, a true literary salon.
After Ninfa we will continue for a brief vist of Sermoneta, the most well-preserved medieval borgo in central Lazio, and the enormous fortress of Caetani Castle that looms over dominant the town and the valley below.
At the end of the tour we will transfer you back to Rome.

Gilberto from DiscoveryGuided Tours took our group safely to Ninfa and Sermoneta. The garden tour was fantastic! Gilberto left us to have a leisurely lunch in Sermoneta which we really enjoyed. Our outing was perfect. It could not have gone better.
