About this activity
The audience takes place in either St Peter's Square, St Peter's Basilica or the Audience Hall, depending on seasonal conditions and the number of pilgrims visiting on each particular day.

You'll begin this special day with a relaxing coach tour across Rome. Your city tour includes a live commentary and offers a brief introduction to Rome as you travel by bus to the Vatican City. Highlights en route include Piazza della Repubblica, following the ancient Aurelian Walls, the famous Villa Borghese gardens and the northern gate of Rome leading into Piazza del Popolo, where you will glimpse an Egyptian obelisk dating back to the time of Ramses II. Upon arrival at St Peter's Square you will pass the impressive Castel Sant'Angelo, the ancient tomb of Emperor Hadrian.

Skip the line was really helpful with pre-purchasing on Viator with the Papal Audience ticket. However, I think if the organizer / operator can help to deliver ticket to buyer's hotel before the event, it will be a lot more easier upon checking in the hotel for the buyer. He or she can also plan her/his own schedule more easier.

This was very well organised and we had no waiting around and seats to sit on. A very moving experience.

This was not as pleasant as I was expected. It was not worthy to book the guide. First, he arrived late at the hotel, 45 minutes after they told us they would pick us up at 8:15. Second, there was no special service or quick access lines to enter the site. We had to go through the same line with hundredths of people like everyone else. Once we got inside, he just showed us the room where hundreths of people were sitting, pointed to empty seats and then left. He was gone shortly after that. Money thrown out and spent for nothing. These services were not worthy. I would have been better off doing it by myself.

The tour was ok. For some odd reason I was thinking the tour guide would take us to special seats or something however this tour was more so hop on the bus while the tour guide talks, then once we get to the vatican grounds he gives us the tickets then shows us where the line was and waits for us until the papal audience is over. There is no skip the line sort of thing here, everyone has to go through secruity airport style which takes a long time since it ges crowded very quickly and it seems not enough security to screen. We were lucky enough to have seen the pope up close. My recommendation is once you're inside the gates stand in the sides of the area where the pope mobile will drive around so you can get an up close look at the pope preferably near a baby that the pope might want to pick up and kiss/bless. The experience to see the pope is once in a life time for sure and a big highlight to my Europe travels, however the tour itself was okay at best considering I hear it was free to get tickets for the papal audience.

This tour was so amazing as I got to see the Pope close up. It was a once in a lifetime experience.
