Meet Alessandra, your private kid-friendly tour guide at the the main gate of Castel Sant’Angelo for a 2.5 hour private walking tour. Discover the magnificence of Castle Sant’Angelo, one of the most popular landmarks in all Rome, find out all the historical facts behind it in a fun and professional way. This historical building, wanted by the Emperor Hadrian as a tomb for himself and his family, became a military fortress during the medieval ages. It was also once used as the Pope’s refuge in the event of an emergency, thanks to the corridor that connects the Castle to the Vatican. The Castle then became a prison and a State Treasury as well. From the terrace of the Angel you will enjoy one of the most gorgeous views of Rome!

You will then take a walk as far as the Pantheon and be amazed by its great column portico entrance and by its immense dome. It was the world's largest dome for centuries, and today it remains the largest unsupported dome in the world. It was the first pagan temple to be transformed into a church, and therefore it was saved from being destroyed throughout the ages. Today it is a burial place for several important Italian historical figures. Explore it with Alessandra, who will provide your kids with colorful books and multimedia tools to entertain them and maintain their interest.

Just round the corner is Piazza Navona. It was an open stadium, a genuine competition arena for athletics contests as well as gladiatorial combat. When it became a public place, many examples of baroque architecture and artwork were added, such as the Pamphili Palace, the church of Saint’Agnes, the three lavish fountains and the obelisk in the center of the square, which came from Egypt. Kids will love this place, it’s such a great family-friendly pedestrian area and Alessandra will help you to get the most out of this square!
