Private Day Trip to Siena and San Gimignano from Rome

This day trip is designed for those who wish to enjoy a day visiting the beautiful region of TUSCANY.

Your private, English-speaking driver will pick you up from your hotel in Rome and take you to the heart of Tuscany where the charming town of Siena is located. You will spend the morning here, exploring its cafes and alleys, and visiting the main square, Piazza del Campo- the site of the Palio delle Contrade, the famous horse race that takes place twice a year, followed by a visit to the Duomo.

UPGRADE and add a drive from Siena to a local winery in the heart of Chianti region -

Torciano Winery - where you will enjoy a light lunch and sample a number of their different wine varieties, including two types of dessert wine produced by them as well. You will then descend into their wine cellar where you will try their olive oil and their 30-year-old, aged balsamic vinegar.

Next, you will make your way to the charming, medieval hill town of San Gimignano, also known as the Town of Fine Towers.

San Gimignano’s historical center was declared a UNESCO world heritage site in 1990 for having almost perfectly preserved its features from the twelfth and thirteenth centuries. A small, walled medieval hill town in the province of Siena, San Gimignano was very important in its time and is now one of the most visited towns in Tuscany. You have the afternoon here to explore its alleyways and small squares, and shop for some of the typical Tuscan delicacies before heading back to Rome.
