Pass By: DriverinRome Transportation & Tours, Via Pian del Marmo 21, 00166 Rome Italy

This Private tour has been designed for guests who wish to enjoy an overview of the Amalfi coast, visit the picturesque village of Positano and explore Pompeii, which is the most important excavation site in the world. Meet your knowledgeable English speaking driver at your centrally located Rome hotel, then hop inside your private, air-conditioned minivan (sedan) and journey south to Italy’s Campania region.

Pass By: Castelli Romani, Colli Albani, Rome Italy

Heading south exit rome and Drive past the Roman Castles. The so-called Roman Castles (Castelli Romani in Italian) are a group of comunes in the Metropolitan City of Rome. They are located a short distance south-east of the city of Rome, at the feet of the Alban Hills, in the territory corresponding to the Old Latium.

Pass By: Abbazia di Montecassino, Via Montecassino S.n.c., 03043, Cassino Italy

The city is best known as the site of the Abbey of Montecassino and the Battle of Monte Cassino during World War II, which resulted in huge Allied and German casualties as well as the near total destruction of the town itself.

Pass By: Bay of Naples, Italy

It is a roughly 15-kilometer-wide gulf located along the south-western coast of Italy . It opens to the west into the Mediterranean Sea. It is bordered on the north by the cities of Naples and Pozzuoli, on the east by Mount Vesuvius, and on the south by the Sorrentine Peninsula and the main town of the peninsula, Sorrento. The Peninsula separates the Gulf of Naples from the Gulf of Salerno, which includes the Amalfi coast.

Pass By: Vesuvius National Park, Via Palazzo del Principe, 80044 Ottaviano Italy

Vesuvius has erupted many times since and is the only volcano on the European mainland to have erupted within the last hundred years. Today, it is regarded as one of the most dangerous volcanoes in the world because of the population of 3,000,000 people living nearby, making it the most densely populated volcanic region in the world, as well as its tendency towards violent, explosive eruptions of the Plinian type.

Stop At: Pompeii - Archaeological Area., Porta Marina Superiore (Via Villa dei Misteri) Piazza Immacolata, Piazza Porta Marina inf., 80045 Pompeii Italy

Is the most-visited archaeological site in the world, due to its many and well-preserved ruins, left behind by a city buried in Vesuvius’s wake in the year 79 A.D. The ancient site was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1997, an excellent repository of details on quotidian life during Antiquity.

(Pay your entrance fee and then head inside to explore independently. Or, if you’ve upgraded, join up with an expert guide to begin your tour.

Gain fascinating insight into the everyday life of the Imperial era as you stroll through the well-preserved streets, passing houses and public buildings that have been locked in time by the volcanic ash.

See the ancient piazza and the impressive limestone columns of the Forum, where elections and other political and business events would have taken place during Roman times. Then, perhaps head to the thermal baths, where many of Pompeii’s inhabitants would have bathed and socialized.

Marvel at the remains of the Teatro Grande, an impressive theater that once sat some 5,000 people, and stop by the Lupanar, a brothel decorated with eye-popping frescoes.

We enjoyed our day, but were very disappointed with the arrogance of our private driver, who refused to take us to Positano as we booked. He rushed our day for no reason as Pompeii is very close to the coast. We managed to demand changes as per our original itinerary, but for the money and promise of a whole day together the driver just wanted to get us back to Rome as quickly as possible - do this private trip but through a different driving company

Tour driver and tour guide at Pompeii were both knowledgeable and professional. I would unhesitatingly recommend the tour.

This was one of the highlights of our trip! Matteo, our driver, was incredible. Prompt, personable and helped customize the day for us based on our interests. Ida, our Pompeii tour guide helped bring the experience to life for our kids. I highly recommend this day trip from Rome!

This was a long day but we thought it was worth it. Our driver in Rome Alan was on time, pleasant, open to answering questions about the country, knowledgable, very patient as we hit unexpected traffic and the day ran long. He was delightful. Our tour guide Ida in Pompeii was amazing... also kind, pleasant and knowledgable. Great tour.

Damiano was an excellent guide! He highlighted spots along the way that were of interest and was very patient with our questions. He was quick to make great suggestions and was thorough with his explanations. If I had time to book another tour in Rome, I'd ask for Damiano to be our guide. Thanks for an amazing experience!!

Although not cheap, we felt the private tour was worth it. Our ride met us at our hotel in Rome right on time, and was friendly and informative on our ride to Positano. He provided helpful advice and recommendations, then left us to wander about the charming and breathtaking village for a couple of hours, visiting shops, having lunch, hanging out on the beach for a while. waded a little, but the water was too chilly to swim-March--but still a good time to go, as apparently traffic in the summer can be horrendous Then went to Pompeii, where our private tour guide was waiting, and we were able to skip the line. Pompeii was spectacular, and again the private guide is worth it--I am sure it allowed us to see much more in the allotted time the site is HUGE, and have a much better understanding of what we saw
