Walking Palates Food Tour of Rome

Our walking food tour of Rome explores traditional dishes and innovative recipes while walking through Monti neighborhood, an area renowned among Romans for its mixture of traditional life, represented for instance by the local artisans, and a vibrant food, arts and night-life scene. The tour starts with a tasting of white sparkling wine in one of the best wine bars of Rome. This is an occasion to talk about the Italian wine tradition while enjoying the atmosphere of this unique venue where shelves are packed with bottles coming from all over the country. We then will move to the very heart of the neighborhood, where we’ll enjoy samples of local pizza bianca (sounds like pizza but it is not quite the same thing), local cheese and cold cuts, paired with excellent local wine.

Walking through the narrow with views of the Colosseum or the Forum, and while discovering how centuries of history are still alive in the area, we will sample home-made pasta, a carpaccio of cod fish, a typical ingredient of Roman cuisine revisited by a chef who has been working in a Michelin-star restaurant before opening his own tiny restaurant.
