My travel companion and I had only two days to see the greatest "hits" of Rome and the Viator Skip the line tours were perfect for us. The weather was sunny but hot, we had just arrived after an 8 hour flight, but we felt comfortable on the tour and the guide was very kind and sensitive to finding shade for us. Paulo was knowledgeable and made sure we were kept together and answered any and all questions we may have had. The Colosseum, Forum and Palentine Hill are important fixtures in the history of Rome and can not be missed. We were able to easily find the meeting place and the tour started and ended just as described. Highly recommend Viator!!

Simona, an archaeologist working in the Roman Forum, was fabulous. It was a rather large group over 20, but her knowledge and perspective kept everyone glued to her words. She presented just enough history with Roman culture to bring the entire ruins to life. The use of her pictures while showing the actual ruins was superb. I would hire Simona again and recommend her to anyone. Worth every penny to be guided in/out easily and with such a rich explanation along the way.

Went on way too long, guide spent too much time talking about in-depth detail which wasn't all required. As a result we didn't reach the Roman Forum until 6.50pm - and the staff made everyone leave at 7pm. This was going to be one of the highlights of the tour for me, but as a result we only entered the first 100yrds before we were ushered out the exit to leave. Very disappointed as we only had 2 days in Rome. My advice, buy tickets at the gate, do the history research yourself beforehand, and don't bother with the tour. The guide knew his stuff hence the 2 stars, but he knew how to talk all day as well.

We had the Colosseum, Palatine Hill, and Roman Forum tour and it was fantastic! We took the tour with Simona Mariotti and she was absolutely wonderful! She is an Archaeologist, so she was EXTREMELY knowledgeable on the history of everything around us. Simona was incredibly kind and made our trip totally worth it :)

Laura did a great job to "make the bricks alive", thank you! Interesting information, but very focused, not to many details.

We had a small tour group with a few children. Our English speaking guide is an archeologist work on a current “dig”. A true historian. She was able to address all our questions.

The guide should not do an English speaking tour guide. She did not know very much English at all.

Good solid tour. Tour guide was a knowledgeable archeologist. Loved the ear buds so everyone can hear and you get info while walking. I would say presentation was a little dry. In addition, the tour guide spoke English with quite a heavy accent, which always makes it a challenge to stay interested in the material.

The tour itself was good, the guide was informative and we had easy access through the colosseum. I think the Palatine hill tour maybe was a bit too long, but overall good. The unfortunate thing was that one of our headsets did not work and when we told the guide, she basically said tough luck. So one of us just had to follow around but could not hear any of the information it was too loud in the colosseum to hear, even when standing close.

2 1/2 tour lasted 2 hours 1/2 hour spent waiting for 2nd portion of tour Palatine Hill and Roman Forum section to begin. Guide for Colosseum was excellent. Sam was very knowledgeable and polite. Guide for Palantine Hill and Roman Forum, Matthew, was rude and included too many unnecessary expletives, not referring to the subject matter. He was knowledgeable about the material presented however, he was more worried about signing people up for different tours instead of focusing on the tour he was giving.
