The Colosseum of Ancient Rome is yours to explore. Bypass the long lines, access areas most tours aren’t allowed to see, and take your time investigating this symbol of Roman culture from top to bottom.
Your ticket allows you privileged entry through the Gladiator’s Gate: the ‘stage door’ of the Colosseum, not generally open to the public. The gate leads you directly onto the partially reconstructed Arena Floor, where gladiators performed in wild hunts and deadly duels for the entertainment of a blood-thirsty crowd.
Stand on high where the Emperor’s box once stood, then descend into the Underground: the backstage area where gladiators prepared themselves for battle. These areas, all off-limits to most tours, let you experience the vastly different perspectives and tiers of society that mixed at the Colosseum – without navigating crowds of tourists.
Of course, you also have access to the more public areas of the Colosseum, including the tiers of stands where audiences hungrily awaited the violent spectacles staged for their pleasure.

Our guide, Nick, was extremely personable l and very knowledgeable about the Colosseum. We enjoyed all his commentary. He kept a good walking pace for the entire group which consisted of a wide range of ages. He seemed to truly love his job. We appreciated his ability to find places for the group to be away from the large crowds. We definitely would recommend this tour.
