The Vatican City’s famous museums, contain one of the largest and most spectacular art display in the world, including the ancient Roman and Greek statuary collection of the Renaissance Popes, Belvedere courtyard, Muse’s rooms, Circular room with Hercules, Greek cross room with Constantine’s sarcophagus, the Gallery of Maps overlooking the Vatican Gardens and Raphael’s rooms.

Stop At: Sistine Chapel, Citta del Vaticano 1, 00120 Vatican City Italy

And finally Michelangelo’s breathtaking Last Judgement in the Sistine Chapel. You will journey through the history and the secret enveloping the Catholic Church and hear the stories of rivalries of the Renaissance artists.

Stop At: Vatican Necropolis, Piazza San Pietro Beneath St. Peter’s Basilica, 00120 Vatican City Italy

Around 3 pm you will meet our staff to enter in the Vatican City to explore the Necropolis underground tunnels and galleries called the Scavi. This exclusive guided tour will take you down into the lowest levels of St. Peter's Basilica. This is not the “grotto” area that lies just beneath St. Peter's where the monuments, chapels, and tombs of past Popes and Italian dignitaries lie. The Scavi Tour goes down below the grotto to an area known as the “Necropolis” an ancient pagan and Christian cemetery and burial ground from the 1st century the most sacred site within Vatican City.

Positioned just below the Renaissance basilica and above Constantine’s 4th century basilica, the grottoes contain chapels dedicated to various saints and tombs of kings, queens and popes, dating from the 10th century.

Continuing on through the St.Peter's Basilica you’ll marvel at the masterpieces of the Baroque genius Bernini (his Canopy is the largest bronze object in the world) and at the awe-inspiring Pietà Michelangelo's masterpiece.
