We booked this tour and were incredibly lucky to get Larissa and the fact that it was only us that had booked for the time frame! Her training and knowledge made our time together so much more memorable. She shared so much history and information plus answered all our inquiries as well. Such a pleasure and will be referring friends for this tour as well.

If you are looking for a short -- 3 hours is plenty on foot -- introduction to Ancient Rome, this is for you. Our guide, Nadia, was knowledgeable and friendly, and clearly has command of archeology in the area. She is passionate about her home and its history, perfect recipe for a successful tour.

I ran late for this tour but they very kindly contacted me to see where I was and how fast I could get there. they waited for us and I think it caused a little issue as the tickets are timed. I am very grateful they were so accommodating. we had a great time and I recommend this tour of the colosseum and the forum. our guide was very nice and informative. also it was only 4 of us so it was nice having a small group to get personal attention.

Our walking tour 8305P2 covered all the areas promised in Viator's overview. Our guide, a history teacher, spun a verbal tale of Roman life and used the architecture before us as scenery. In some cases she augmented her tale with photos of the buildings as archeologists uncovered them. The pace of the tour was good. Everyone could keep up with the walking. Adequate time was allowed for photos. Restroom and water fountains were pointed out. Although it was Easter Sunday and the annual Rome Marathon day, our guide led us through ticketing and security lines quickly.

Wow, what amazing Tour. We had booked the 3.15pm tour and on the morning of the tour it commenced raining heavily which made us a little worried. The rain kept on, so we just had to jump in. We met our tour guide Nicola at the Colosseo Metro station and it turned out that we were the only two. I guess the rain scared others away. This was very fortunate for us as it effectively gave us a private tour. Nicola's knowledge of the history and of the times was truly amazing. We learn't so much about the operation of the Colosseum, the life and times of the Gladiators and of the structures of the ancient society in general. For us this reshaped our understanding which we now realise was probably falsely influenced by 50s and 60's Hollywood movies. We then pushed on to Forum where we learn't how the over the various phases of the Roman Empire the complex integration of the buildings now ruins were formed. Whilst we finished with tired and very damp feet it was truly worth it and we consider ourselves extremely fortunate to have had Nicola as our guide. His engaging and friendly approach was brilliant and he has left us with and experience that we will carry with us for the rest of our lives. Debbie and Graeme C Melbourne, Australia

This was a great tour and really worth the money. Our guide was very knowledgeable and was a wonderful source of information and for putting the sites into perspective. It was a long tour of around 4 hours but excellent and I got much more out of visiting the sites than had I just had the audio guide and wandered around by myself. Highly recommended if you want to get something more out of your visit.

Our tour was moved from 8am to 9am. We normally would be OK with sleeping in a little longer. But we had another tour at the Vatican at 1:45. So unfortunately, we couldn't finish the tour or visit the gift shop for some souvenirs which was a little disappointing. Adrian was our tour guide for the ancient Rome and forum. He was quite knowledgeable, and humorous. Really appreciated him. The headsets were quite helpful as there were so many people and we were able to hear him. The tour was turned over to another company for the colosseum part of the tour. The young lady was fine. Unfortunately her headsets were not compatible with Adrian's earbuds, so we either had to get closer to hear her or hold the headsets to our ears to hear which made for tired arms. Definitely get a skip the line tour, unless you like waiting in long lines. It poured in the morning so there were no lines. But once the rain stopped, the crowds came in force.
