Meet your guide outside the Colosseum and walk in together through the dedicated priviledged entrance.
Here, you will learn about the history of the Amphitheater and the myths about it. You will hear about the innovative techniques used by the ancient Roman engineers to build this giant and how it survived through the centuries. You will discover the political and social reasons that led to its construction as well as the games that took place in it. You will hear about emperors and gladiators.
But most excitingly, you will do so from the highest levels of the building, the very exclusive 3-rd, 4-th and 5-th tiers. These areas are not accessible to regular ticket holders. Opened to visitors for the first time in 2017, they are accessible only with a guided tour. From here you will enjoy an astonishing view over the Gladiators' Arena, the Arch of Costantine and the surrounding area of the Roman Forums, far from the crowds.
The tour will end inside the Colosseum, at the ground floor.
In the process of booking the tour you will be given the possibility to extend your experience with us by adding a tour of the nearby archeological area of the beautiful Roman Forum and the Palatine Hill. This optional tour will last about 45-60 minutes after which you can stay within the area and explore it further for as long as you wish. Here you will get a portrait of what everyday life in ancient Rome was like, since the Roman Forum was the economical, political, juridicial and social center of the city. You will also hear about the Vestal Virgins. Apart from the beauty of the ruins and of the park itself, from here you can enjoy beautiful views over the Colosseum and the Circus Maximus and take the best pictures of them from the outside.
