The Villa dei Quintili is the largest residential complex in the suburb of Rome. Having become the property of the State since 1986, the original nucleus belonged to the Quintili consuls brothers (151 AD) and subsequently transformed into imperial property under the emperor Commodus.
The Villa, built around a large square, extends between the Appia Antica and the Via Appia Nuova. The monumental complex, with thermal rooms, calidarium and frigidarium, overlooks terraces on the Roman countryside. Inside the structure, you can still admire the wealth of sculptural decorations, floors and walls in colored marble.
