Being one of the most visited monuments in the world, there is a regularly long ticket line at the Colosseum. This is a great little tour, and good for adults and children alike. it is quite short, not much more than an hour inside the Colosseum but then you get time to wonder on your own which is great. The Arena Floor and Gladiator entrance is a must and our guide, Zelna, was so lovely, knowledgable and was great with the children in the group, making sure they understood and were included which I thought was really good. I would recommend this tour to anyone looking to skip the queues, looking to get a good over view on the history of the Colosseum, I would recommend to all.
The meeting point was a 5min walk to the colosseum with no problems finding the meeting point using the address provided. Sam, our tour guide, was excellent. He was professional, very informative and had a great sense of humour. There was a little bit of commotion outside of the colosseum due to an unexpected protest, however he handled the whole situation very well. The Gladiator entrance was a very nice way to enter such a wonderful building and we skipped the very very very long lines which was a massive bonus.
Skip the line tour...just for that reason, it is worth it! Waiting outside for the tour seems like mass confusion but they know what they are doing! Going in through the Gladiator's entrance is pretty cool and there are not many people in that area so you get a chance to look at the underground without having to push through a bunch of people! A lot of information is provided but you are able to walk around afterward and explore on your own time.
