Stop At: Sistine Chapel, Citta del Vaticano 1, 00120 Vatican City Italy
The Sistine Chapel is a chapel in the Apostolic Palace, the official residence of the pope, in Vatican City. Originally known as the Cappella Magna ('Great Chapel'), the chapel takes its name from Pope Sixtus IV, who restored it between 1477 and 1480. Since that time, the chapel has served as a place of both religious and functionary papal activity. Today, it is the site of the papal conclave, the process by which a new pope is selected. The fame of the Sistine Chapel lies mainly in the frescos that decorate the interior, most particularly the Sistine Chapel ceiling and The Last Judgment by Michelangelo.

The dinner was amazing, the most beautiful and serene setting along with delicious food. Unfortunately the tour was a disappointment, there were too many people included in the tour group, which made it easy to become separated from the group especially given the large number of general tourists within the Vatican Museums at the same time, and the guide was expected to provide commentary in both English and Spanish languages to the same group. Also, following the conclusion of dinner the guides were late to collect our tour group, this appeared to frustrate the Museum staff charged with watching over our group. The cost was expensive given the tour part of the evening did not live up to the dinner and initial experience - 3 stars awarded based on the dinner experience alone.
The dinner at the Vatican was one of the best parts of this tour. NOBODY but your tour having dinner outside by the park. it was great! the tour itself was good, but the vatican is even crowded at night. I would recommend taking the tour - our guide had a pretty heavy accent though so it was hard to understand her at times.
So enjoyed the opportunity to visit the Sistine Chapel on a Friday evening without all the crowds I endured the first time I visited. The dinner in the garden beforehand was delicious and it was a lovely setting. Our tour guide was very informative and personable.
