Wander at your own pace around the famous galleries such as the Pinacoteca if you would rather admire paintings from the 13th century to the 19th century or choose another route that will lead you to rooms containing ancient roman statues and sarcophagi such as the Chiaramonti museum or the Braccio nuovo.

Visit the most popular sites including the Belvedere courtyard, the Greek cross Room, the Gallery of the maps frescoed by the end of the 16th century, the gallery of the Tapestries and the Raphael’s rooms to admire the technique of the renaissance artist.

Head toward the Sistine Chapel, where the elections of popes are held, famous for the so called "conclave" and for the frescoes by the Genius of Michelangelo it contains.

  • Please note: Raphael Rooms are available only for the first 8:30 morning tour.
  • On Wednesdays departure there is the possibility that you will be unable to include St Peter’s Basilica. This is due to the weekly Papal Audience during which access to St. Peter’s Basilica could be closed. As an alternative you will be offered an extended itinerary within the Vatican Museums, which still includes the Sistine Chapel and the Raphael’s Rooms. It is important that you come to the meeting point at least 15 minutes prior to departure time. We are unable to accommodate other entrance times. Anyone who arrives late cannot be accommodated. We cannot predict when individual museums will be crowded. In general, long lines are common at major attractions in summer, on most weekends and during peak travel periods throughout the year (Christmas, Easter and local holidays). Our skip the line tickets enables you to skip the line indeed if there is one. Unfortunately there is no way to foresee which days and times will produce lines and which will not. On rare occasions Saint Peter’s Basilica closes without notice. When this happens, we will spend 3 hours touring the Vatican Museum and the Sistine Chapel. The tour guides aim to notify the guests if St. Peter’s Basilica unexpectedly closes upon commencement of the tour. It is beyond our control therefore no refunds or discounts will be issued.
  • Please be informed that the Vatican Museums provide wheelchair free of charge in the main lobby. You can easily pick one up upon entering, before starting your own independent visit.
  • Please note also that - the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s Basilica maintains a strict dress code year-round. All visitors must have their shoulders covered and pants/skirts must come to the knee. Please wear comfortable shoes.
  • If you are looking for a tour with wheelchair access you can choose our private wheelchair accessible tour so our guide can lead you through an alternate route.
  • Backpacks, tripods and big umbrellas must be left inside the cloakroom upon entering Vatican Museum. To reduce any disruption for your group, we recommend that backpacks are not taken on this tour.
  • This tour/activity will have a maximum of 25 travelers

Honestly, everyone who took this tour on the day I went should get their money back. It was so incredibly packed that you had to stand shoulder to shoulder with others, moving inch by inch through the museum. You could not see anything and there was no where to stand to get some air and appreciate the museum. It was the worst experience on our trip to Rome.
