Semi-Private Tour of the Colosseum and Forum with Arena Floor, Gladiator Entrance and Virtual Reality

As of June 1st all participants are required to bring a valid form of ID to enter the restricted areas of the Colosseum (passport, drivers license or government ID). Photo copies are acceptable. 

After a brief intro, you can place your phone inside the VR glasses and your guide will explain where to use them throughout the tour to enjoy reconstructions of the ancient world and bring the past back to life! With skip-the-line access, bypass all the lines and enter directly into the Colosseum through the Gladiator entrance. Then you will enjoy the first two rings of this wonderful arena. Stories of gladiators, Caesars, games and entertainment, along with thorough explanations of its architecture and flawless engineering will be provided by your expert guide. 

After reliving the most famous gladiator’s amphitheater of the world, icon of Rome, your Ancient Rome tour will continue to Palatine Hill. After climbing the hill at the very top you will be able to enjoy a stunning view of the valley between the Palatine Hill and the Aventine Hill where Circus Maximus used to be. 

Walk through the pinecone trees, learn fun anecdotes with our top-rated guides and descend into the most famous valley of the world: the Roman Forum. Here you will enjoy the Arch of Titus, the Basilica of Maxentius, the Temple of Antonino and Faustina and when at the bottom you will be standing in the main square, surrounded by some of the most important architectural icons of ancient Rome. The view is spectacular, the explanations and descriptions provided by your guide are immersing you into history, but for a moment, put your glasses on, and see it all come to life in front of you!

LIVITALY VR GLASSES

One pair of LivItaly original VR cardboard glasses will be distributed and gifted to every two people on tour. In order to use the glasses, you are required to download the LivItaly app (via Apple or Android store) prior to the tour and bring the smartphone with the app on the day of the tour. Please note: VR cardboard glasses by no means replace your tour guides efforts and descriptions and serve only as an enhancement to the tour. They are in no way a video game, but instead offer 360-degree visual reconstructions of the architectural wonders that surround you.

ABOUT OUR 6 PEOPLE SMALL GROUP POLICY

When you book a small group tour you are guaranteed one tour guide per group of 6 people. However, in order to accommodate traveling families and friends, we do on rare occasion make the exception of adding an additional one to two guests in order not to separate families. You may also find yourself on tour with less than six people. As we accept bookings in multiples of six, math doesn’t always work in our favor when accommodating groups traveling together. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
