Wine Tasting - The Wine of the Romans

Itinerary

This tour will take you at first on top of the Janiculum Hill to visualize the Latium Volcano, a fertile land just a handful of miles away from Rome. You’ll then follow the same road the Romans used to reach that area: the Ancient Appian Way, Queen of all roads!

We’ll take you to the little town of Nemi, where emperor Caligula used to party at Lake Nemi, on his ship sized floating villa, here you’ll enjoy the famous local strawberries or maybe a gelato…just to get started!

We’ll then take you to a wine farm in Frascati to tour the vineyards and cellars and enjoy some outstanding wines paired with local specialties. We’ll then proceed to the famous town of Castelgandolfo (renown for being the popes’ summer residence), here you’ll enjoy a traditional lunch in a unique local place where you’ll even visit medieval dungeons, and then, restored and satisfied you’ll admire the beauty of this awesome town and the scenic view of Lake Albano.
