About this activity
Your guided tour through Te Puia includes a visit to the wood carving school, art and craft gallery, Rotowhio Marae, weaving display and kiwi house. Next, see the playful boiling mudpools; these are the largest and most impressive at Te Puia, with a depth of between 6-10 metres. Sitting atop the sinter terraces known as Geyser Flat is the largest active geyser in the southern hemisphere.
Next, visit Rotorua’s Government Gardens situated on the lake's edge. You will learn more about the Maori history and customsimportance to local Maori people.
