Private Tour: Normandy Thoroughbred Horse Studs with Optional Horseback Riding from Rouen

Your guide will pick you up for an early 8am start. Head to a place near Lisieux and watch as the yearlings, foals and mares are put out for the day. Chat to the owner of the place over a cup of coffee before going for a guided tour around the entire stud. Learn all about the history of horse-breeding in Normandy, and for those already in the know see how horse-breeding in France differs from other places.

For lunch you will head to Beuvron en Auge, one of the most charming villages of the Pays D'Auge. Your guide will take you to the best creperie in the region, where you can savor a few of these thin, French pancakes.

In the afternoon, depending of the season, you will visit two more studs where you'll see the best racing stallions in France, and then either a jumping horses stud (in winter) or a polo training and breeding facility near Lisieux (in summer).

Take in the beautiful Normandy landscape and villages as your guide takes you to the different places.

Summer season only: for experienced equestrians who would like to go for a ride, your guide can organize this on the beach in Deauville for sunset (own expense). Boots and helmets will be provided.
