Privat Ounasjoki River Adventure day

We’ll pick up attendees and meet onshore of the Ounasjoki River, where we hop onboard the Golden Fox, our riverboat.

We’ll travel towards the Happy Fox forest farm, along the Ounasjoki River, admiring the beautiful riverside views and stopping to take photos occasionally.

We try our luck with fishing ashore the Happy Fox forest farm by Ounasjoki River. If we were lucky, we’ll prepare a snack from the fish we caught by open fire. The usual draught you might catch is pike, bass or rainbow trout. A snack with refreshments will be served by open fire in a goahti hut.

After fishing we’ll heat the Floting Sauna and enjoy the unique experience of the gentle heat of wood heated Sauna on slowly flowing Ounasjoki River. While bathing in the sauna, you may cool down by hopping into the fresh river and have a swim. The floating sauna is a real experience in Finnish river nature.

The return trip to Rovaniemi by our riverboat will give you another chance to admire the beautiful nature of Ounasjoki.

To the relief of shy ones, wearing a swimsuit or a towel is allowed in the sauna. Towels for the sauna are provided by us.

At the Happy Fox we have only local guides with a real knowledge of the arctic nature, so the nature trip with us is a genuine experience.

You may attend this tour wearing any outfit suitable for the outdoors. Please pay attention to the weather – a rain coat may come in handy. Due to the wet terrain, please choose your shoes accordingly. Your outfit may also catch the smell of smoke during the tour.
