Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival to Lima

Stop At: Centro Historico de Lima, Lima Peru
Arrive at the airport, and enjoy an interesting chat with your guide while being transferred to your hotel in Lima. The Peruvian capital is a modern metropolis full of history, and it is undergoing an exciting process of cultural and economic change. In the afternoon, you will be picked up from your hotel and transferred to the Magic Water Circuit of Lima, a modern fountain system (certified as the largest in the world by the Guinness World Records) built in La Exposicion Park. The fountain system attracts crowds during summer and winter, consolidating it as one of the new attractions of Lima. Afterwards, head to a restaurant to enjoy a typical dance show during dinner. Then, transfer back to your hotel.

Day 2: Coulinary Experience

Stop At: Centro Historico de Lima, Lima Peru
Have breakfast at the hotel and start with a scenic tour of the boardwalk, crossing the bohemian district of Barranco and the modern district of Miraflores, passing by Love Park where you can admire an imposing view of the Pacific Ocean. After the tour, arrive at a thematic restaurant and participate in a cocktail class, learning how to prepare the famous pisco sour. Then, enjoy a cooking class, learning how to make a delicious, typical Peruvian dish. After both classes, enjoy a tasty lunch overlooking the sea. At the end of your tour, transfer back to your hotel.

Day 3: Lima: City Tour

Stop At: Centro Historico de Lima, Lima Peru
Breakfast at the hotel. Explore Lima´s old town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site packed with fascinating historic buildings. Start with the Larco Museum, located in the traditional Pueblo Libre district, which is housed in a beautifully restored vice regal mansion built on a pre-Columbian pyramid from the VII century. The museum boasts the most complete pre-Hispanic collection of gold and silver objects, as well as pieces of erotic art. Then visit Casa Aliaga, a colonial mansion granted in 1535 by chief conquistador Francisco Pizarro to Jerónimo de Aliaga, one of his captains. This is the only house from that time that is still owned by the same family through the centuries. Continue to a scenic tour in the colonial downtown, which originates and spreads out from the Main Square, where you can appreciate the grandiose architecture of the Spanish Empire. Be amazed by Lima´s Cathedral, built during the 16th century and took over 80 years to complete. Finally, you are transferred back to the hotel.

Day 4: Lima - Cuzco: Art Trail

Stop At: Centro Historico De Cusco, Cusco 08002 Peru
You are transferred from your hotel to the airport of Lima. Once you arrive at the Cuzco airport, a transportation service will be waiting for you to transfer you to your hotel. You find with it a representative who guides you around the attractions and facilities that the city has.

In the afternoon, let your imagination fly in two magnificent workshops offered by Art Trail; a project of artistic and cultural development where Cuzco traditions are rescued in artistic sessions. In the first activity, Cuzco Colonial Glazed Ceramics, make a horse or bull of Pucara, a traditional Cuzco figure, and apply fine finishes with a layer of enamel, which gives a glazed effect. In the second, the Colonial Gold Leaf application, enjoy painting with the characteristic colors of the mountain range and finish decorating with gold leaf, a traditional technique that Art Trail has recovered and applied in contemporary crafts; the result is two beautiful personalized works that are delivered to your hotel the next day. Renowned Cuzco artists guide both workshops. Finally, return to your hotel.

Day 5: Cuzco - Sacred Valley - Aguas Calientes.

Stop At: Sacred Valley of the Incas, 0051 Peru
Breakfast at the hotel. During the morning, you are picked up from your hotel in Cuzco to visit the town of Chinchero, a traditional Cuzco urban centre located at an elevated point with a beautiful view of the valley. The inhabitants of this area preserve the artisan traditions and the inherited knowledge of the Incas and display them in their clothes and customs. In Chinchero there are also archaeological remains and a beautiful seventeenth-century church, one of the first Catholic buildings in Peru. Then, you are transferred to the Living Museum of Yucay, a centre Andean traditions interpretations, where demonstrations of the elaboration of textile work, adobe, pottery and silverware are carried out in the same way in which they used to in antiquity; an original recreation of Inca traditions. Also, residents of the museum include llamas, sheep and alpacas, and they can be fed!. Later, have lunch in Ollantaytambo and live a superior Andean gastronomy experience in a restaurant, where the true spirit of the Sacred Valley is transmitted in a cosy atmosphere. Upon arriving in Ollantaytambo visit its town, inhabited uninterruptedly since Inca times, and climb the iconic fortress, built next to a mountain. Then, be transferred to the Ollanta Station to board the train to Aguas Calientes. Aguas Calientes has a handicrafts market, restaurants, and accommodation of different categories for those who prefer to spend the night next to the mountain and then visit it early next morning.

Day 6: Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu - Cuzco

Stop At: Hot Springs (Aguas Calientes), Signposted from main square, Aguas Calientes, Machu Picchu Peru
Have a delicious breakfast at the hotel and then board a coach for a 25-minute ride to Machu Picchu. The ‘Lost City of the Incas' is believed to have been built in the 1450s by Inca emperor Pachacuti as a holiday retreat, yet within a century the city would be abandoned following the Spanish conquest. The Spaniards never found it, so it was spared the destruction they brought on other Inca sites. Instead, it was slowly swallowed up by the jungle and hidden from harm. A guided tour explains the origins behind this awe-inspiring citadel and its most prominent landmarks such as the monumental Main Square, the Royal Quarters, and the Temple of the Three Windows, the Circular Towers, the Sacred Sun Dial and the Burial Grounds. Return to Aguas Calientes for a tasty lunch at the famous Café Inkaterra, a beautiful thatched-roof restaurant hemmed in between the railway and a mountain. In the afternoon, transfer to the Aguas Calientes station to take the train back to the Ollanta station, from where you will be taken to your hotel in Cuzco.

Day 7: Cuzco: Walking tour San Blas

Stop At: San Blas, Cusco Peru
Breakfast at the hotel. A tour to stretch your legs. San Blas quarter was originally used as dwellings for the Inca nobles, which built impressive stone constructions at a short distance of what used to be Huacaypata and it is the current place of the Main Square. It is still possible to see the unmistakable rigor of the Inca walls at the base of many constructions. Today the quarter is a conglomerate of charming small cobblestone streets that are very popular among craftspeople, who sell their works on the street. Among its top attractions is the San Blas Church, a temple that houses a pulpit that is a priceless work of art, a wood carving performed by a masterly indigenous woodcarver. Finish the tour visiting the San Pedro market, a pantry of thousands of products from different areas of the region. Finally, return to your hotel.

Day 8: Departure Cuzco
