Feel the spirit of Russia in this beautiful folkloric show that will not leave a single person unaffected!
If you are lucky, you might even be picked up to join the dancers on stage!
The folk show is represented with 3 professional folk groups:
1) “Peters Quartet” vocal quartet. Classical performance of folk songs, lyrical romances and Russian Orthodox hymns.
2) "Maidan" Cossack song-and-dance group. The name of the group gets its origin from the place where all Cossacks used to assemble in older times and where decisions were made "by the whole world". The group skilfully reproduces Cossack songs and dances in their original form.
3) «Stars of St.Petersburg» dance group. The dancers have graduated from leading schools of choreography in Russia. The repertoire covers lyrical dances of the Russian North, energetic dances of the Cossacks from the Don and Voronezh, dancing miniatures of the Urals and Siberia with their subtle humour. Spectators of all ages and tastes will be able to appreciate not only the ability of the performers to bring Russian national colour to the stage, but also their highest skills, complexity of acrobatic feats and breath-taking leaps.
Duration of the show: 1.5 hours (two parts of 45 minutes)
Drinks and light snacks are served during the interval. Try a bite of canapés with red caviar, ham, Russian Salami, various cheeses; enjoy a shot of Russian vodka, a glass of champagne, red wine, or stay healthy with mineral water, juice and assorted soft drinks.

Our driver picked us up from our ship right on time and it was a fairly short drive to the theater in the beautiful Nikolayevsky Palace. The quartet of male singers in the beginning had outstanding voices and were good showmen as well, The musician, singers and dancers all did a great job and the costumes were wonderful. During intermission, a lovely array of fruits and snacks and beverages was available. We had a wonderful time.
With free seating if you arrive near the start time you will most likely be to the far left or right of the stage. Not such a great location albeit worth the visit
We had looked for this show on the company link and many other places . The price was quite high . We were also not clear on content to expect. The focus was on hotel pickup and drop and fdiscount on a high priced dinner. We didn't want any of that clubbed . We preferred a clean offer for show. Some site offered discount but catch was only physical tickets delivered to hotel . No option of e voucher or exchange at counter However this viator deal was very tempting. Offer seemed a big discount . Facility of e voucher to exchange at counter . The process was clean, safe and convenient. No hassles at all. Coming to the theatre it is a grab your seat . No numbers . So go as early to getest seats . It is a small venue inside so you are not very far from screen . We were first in queue and got first row centre seats. The show itself was fabulous. Music and dance and costumes wow . Involved crowd in dance and fun . Total entertainment. Would highly recommend not to skip it . And book through viator for good safe deal

This was a very entertaining, well done show! LOVED IT! It was everything I expected. Costumes, music, the snacks...
The champagne was a nice start along with being able to see some locally crafted items. Great mood setting. Dancers were absolutely amazing plus the costumes really made you feel like you were experiencing different parts of Russian. The Canapés we were able to enjoy were tasty but some people acted like they hadn't eaten so swarmed the tables at intermission. Again the singers and dancers were so very talented and performed their hearts out. We took the tour including transportation to and from the hotel which was reassuring and safe but I think we could have found a taxi. Our driver post performance got confused and we were waiting inside while he was outside the performance hall. The concern for our well being and getting back to our hotel by the manager and about six other people was so touching. I certainly wouldn't have expected that nor seen it in Chicago where I live. Wonderful experience!!!
We had a good time at the Russian Folk-show! The performance was very lively and entertaining! We dressed up which was not really necessary. The snacks and champagne were nice. The palace is beautiful, but there are a lot of stairs to climb with no lift if you have knee problems. There were also wonderful things to buy so take your credit card!
It is a good way to get a sip of the Russian culture without having to go complicated with theaters. I recommend it
