Shore Excursion: 2 Day St Petersburg City Tour

Your private expert guide and chauffeur will meet you at the ship or hotel at 9.00. You will drive in a comfortable air-conditioning vehicle, firstly to the historic center to get the first impression of this gorgeous city. The morning city tour includes some stops for taking pictures at the most beautiful sights of St. Petersburg. While driving you will be told the amazing story of the foundation of the city. Then visit a real gem of the city - the Church on Spilled Blood and know its thrilling story. Then visit the Faberge museum and see the Jeweled Imperial eggs created for the Russian Tzar's family. Have a coffee/tea break at a local cafe and then start your travel to Peterhof. The journey will take you about 45 minutes. Peterhof - the former summer residence of Peter the Great – is world-known for the picturesque Lower Gardens with spectacular fountains, representing "Russian Versailles". You will walk through the gardens with your guide and know present and past history of Peterhof and its founder Peter the Great. Important note: not to waste time a visit to the Grand Peterhof Palace is not included due to the crowds in high season.

Next morning your private guide and chauffeur will meet you at the ship or hotel at 9.00.This morning you will travel to see some everyday life of locals: you will visit some opulent stations of metro, Farmer's market, St. Nicolas cathedral.At about 11 you enter the Hermitage museum with our skip-the-line entrance tickets. Walk with your guide through the splendid state halls of the Winter Palace - the former Tzar's residence. You will see the historic halls which witnessed important meetings. You can see the exact room where the revolution started. Art lovers will enjoy the unique art collection - the masterpieces by Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Rafael, Della Robia, Fra Angelico, Botticelli, Filipino Lippi, Caravaggio, Canaletto, Tiepolo, Diego Velasquez, Goya, about 20 works by Rembrandt, Rubens - about 40 masterpieces, Anthony van Dyck, Franz Halls, Antonio Canova and some other famous artists. The tour will take you about 2,5 hours.

At about 2 pm you may stop at a local cafe for a lunch. You guide will bring you to a place where the locals love to eat.

At about 3 pm head for a tour of Peter and Paul’s fortress - the birthplace of the city and St. Peter and Paul’s Cathedral — the Crypt of the Russian Tzars.

At about 4.30 you will be back at the ship.
