Day 1 : 9:00 – 10:00am Meet at the lobby of your hotel (Please note: the time of the beginning of the tour can be adjusted depending on your wishes).

A city overview tour where you will be able to see and take pictures of the most famous and beautiful sights of St. Petersburg center, get acquainted with the history of the city and the Romanov family.

1 hour Canal tour along rivers and canals of the "Venice of the North" (available during the navigation period)

Panoramic city tour including a graet view of the Peter and Paul Fortress.

Church of Our Savior on the Spilled Blood tour, which startles visitors with its mighty size, multicoloured "onion" domes, magnitude of its décor. The interior has the largest surface in the world covered with mosaics created to depict religious subjects

Free time for lunch (own expence)

A stroll along Nevsky Prospect with a visit to the Eliseev Grocery Shop, visit the impressive nineteenth century Kazan Cathedral perceived primarily as a memorial to the Russian victory against Napoleon..

3 hour Hermitage guided tour of the former winter royal residence which boasts with its exclusive interiors and outstanding art collection, full of unique exhibits including a visit of an excepional Impressionistic Exhibition with Hidden treasures collection.

5-6 pm Back to hotel or ship (for cruise ship passenger) or optional evening program

Day 2 : 9:00 – 10:00am Meet at the lobby of your hotel

Travel to Tzar's Village, one of St. Petersburg's suburbs within an hour drive from the city center. You will visit former Tsar's summer residence - Catherine's Palace including the famous Amber Room - the 8th "wonder" of the World and Catherine's Park with its many beautiful pavilions, sculptures and ponds.

Metro tour on the way to explore the deepest metro station of S Petersburg.

Free time for lunch (own expence)

Drive to Peterhof. Another summer residence of Russian emperors. You will see the Upper Garden which resembles Versailles in its planning and, of course, the Lower Park with its incomparable Fountains.

4-5 pm Back to hotel or ship (for cruise ship passengers).

I could not imagine seeing the city any other way. Our guide and drivers were fantastic and had an excellent plan curated to see the most and best of the city with our time. Ana's knowledge of the history of the city and its people is fantastic. It was like being on a two day immersive course in world history, it was so easy to get lost in it all. We saw so much and had a fabulous and relaxing time thanks to Ana. She even helped book us a reservation and planned an itinerary for us after the tour was over to help make sure we got to do what extras we wanted. Thank you so much for such a wonderful experience.

Svadlana met us right on time with a car and a driver Kiril. As a teacher, she is very well versed in the history and stories. She timed everything just right and even prevented a pickpocket team from stealing my camera! The highlight was that she timed the entrance to Catherine Palace so that we were the first to be allowed into the side entrance which opens in the afternoon to relieve the crowded main entrance so we were able to have a private showing of the golden rooms while everyone else crowded into other rooms like cattle. When we shared a room such as the amber room, we were alone in half of the room separated from the crowd by a rope. Well organized and worth every penny! The tour company assigned was Ludmilla Tours

We splurged on this private customized tour as Russia is a dream vacation for us and we wanted to do it right. Our tour guide Svetlana is a brilliant young woman, multi-lingual, with an infectious passion for St. Petersburg. Her knowledge of history and the arts greatly enhanced our visit to the Hermitage/Winter Palace, Catherine's Palace, Church of the Savior on the Blood, Alexander Nevsky Lara/Tikhvin cemetery, St. Isaac Cathedral, Kazan Cathedral, beautiful views over the frozen Neva river, Grand Choral Synagogue, The Mariinsky Theatre and the magnificent metro stations such as Pushinskaya, Ploschad Lenina, and Avtovo. Svetlana took us to a charming cafe Lindfors for chai and coffee, where they have fresh delicious savory and sweet pies. Stop for a hot cup of Sbiten to warm up and get energized for a wonderful tour with Svetlana and the driver Boris who was skilled at finding quick and easy routes throughout the beautiful city of St. Petersburg. All tickets and transport are included, and you will avoid long time consuming queues. Highly recommend Ludmila tours and the tour-guide Svetlana for an incredible overview of a remarkable city,
