I couldn't give this tour a five only because of a couple of extenuating circumstances (too involved to go into) that caused us to be late for a couple of things on the first day. The tour was supposed to end at 5:00 pm, but in order to see Catherine's Palace, we would have had to wait until after 7:00, so we opted to visit another palace instead, still quite lovely. However, we managed to get in everything else that we were promised, and the tour company went out of their way to make things right for us. Helen (Helana?) was an excellent guide with a vast knowledge of Russian history and of all the sights we visited. She also had quite a good command of the English language. Palaces and churches and museums, oh my!! Opulent, ornate, magnificent, beautiful....words can't describe them adequately. Quite a contrast to the buildings of the Soviet era. Anyway, I would highly recommend this tour, even though 2 days only touches the highlights of this incredible city.
