Stop At: The State Hermitage Museum, Palace Square, 2, St. Petersburg 191055 Russia

Start your tour with a local guide picking you up from your centrally located hotel. You will be provided with complimentary city maps, bottled water, rain coats (in case of rain), and farewell gifts. Your private guide will be accompanying you throughout the duration of this tour.

ITINERARY:

9am - Your guide will meet you at your hotel lobby. You will have a nice overview of the city tour in the beginning of the tour.

9:30am - Early entrance to the Hermitage Museum (Winter Palace) which was founded in in 1764. Nowadays, it is world-famous museum with the richest collection of art works. In the series, Pierre Bezukhov and Helena Kuragina ride along the facade of the palace across Palace Square. This place is must-see when in St. Petersburg.

Duration: 2 hours

Stop At: Gostiny Dvor, 35, Nevskiy Prospekt, St. Petersburg 191011 Russia

11:30am - Take a stroll along beautiful "Gostiny Dvor" store. This shop was already working during the times described in "War and Peace."

Duration: 30 minutes

Stop At: Kazan Cathedral, Kazanskaya Sq 2 Metro Nevskiy Prospect, St. Petersburg 191186 Russia

12 pm - Proceed along Nevsky prospect to visit fabulous Kazan Cathedral.

Duration: 30 minutes

Stop At: Mikhailovskiy Castle Historical Museum, Sadovaya St., 2, St. Petersburg 191011 Russia

12:30pm - Visit Mikhailovsky Palace (part of Russian Museum), the former residence of Grand Duke Mikhail Pavlovich of Russia and his family. When not being used as a film set, it functions as the largest museum dedicated to Russian art in the world.

2pm - Lunch (self-payment, not-included)

Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Catherine Palace and Park, Sadovaya St., 7 Tsarskoye Selo, Pushkin, St. Petersburg 196601 Russia

3pm - Drive to Tsarskoye Selo (Pushkin) where the Catherine Palace is located

4pm - Visit the gold ballroom where Natasha Rostov first dances with Prince Andrei is the mirrored ballroom at Catherine Palace.

6:30-7pm- Your return back to your hotel with great memories about your discoveries.

  • This tour is not recommended for wheelchair passengers, and if a person with a wheelchair decides to participate he/she must have a personal helper to assist in boarding/disembarking the vehicle, and entering the restrooms and restaurant, and all sites. At certain locations a wheelchair person may not be able to exit the bus, and may have to stay inside the bus.
  • The visit to the Hermitage does not include the collection of impressionists and post-impressionists which moved to the new General Staff building.
