About this activity
After the pickup from the cruise terminal of Salerno at 8am, your driver will bring you to reach the coast. Enjoy the view of the Bay of Naples on the drive along the coastal highway toward Positano (approximately 1.5 hours). Appreciate the view of the coast with several photo stops scheduled along the most beautiful corners of the road. Stop at the panoramic terrace of the village of Positano, then head to Conca dei Marini for a lunch break of around 45 minutes on a breathtaking terrace overlooking the sea.

Next, stop in Amalfi for around one hour. Stroll through the streets during some free time. Visit the Cathedral of St. Andrew or enjoy a boat ride along the coast of the town, if you wish. From the water, you will get an excellent vantage point to take photos of the cliffs and to discover the history of the many private villas nestled in the rocks.

Finally, head to Ravello, a small village anchored on the highest hill of the coast. Spend approximately one hour here--do not miss the visit of Villa Rufolo and Villa Cimbrone, two breathtaking examples of the rich architectural heritage of this area. The tour last 8 hours, dependent on traffic, and ends at 5pm with drop-off at the cruise port.

What a great excursion. This Amalfi tour was one of the highlights of our cruise. The guide and her driver were ready for us as soon as left the ship in Sorrento. The nice thing about this tour was that it was a small van (15 people) so navigating was easier than a large bus. As the driver concentrated on driving our guide described the areas along the coast we visited. she was very knowledgeable and seemed genuinely enthused to be along for the ride. We stooped every 30 -45 minutes which gave us stretching time and there was always something to see and learn about. A stop to the lemonciello factory was a restroom break as well as gift stop. but well worth it! Once we reached our lunch location we dined with the others at tables of 4 and it was very relaxing and not rushed at all. If we were to ding this tour on anything it would be the somewhat small lunch of pasta and salad but the quality and taste was great. we just wanted MORE! Once on the road again, we began our return via a different route so it was never the same thing twice. Our final stop in Ravello was beautiful with its open piazza and high altitude viewing. Each stop was well timed to use the restroom, shop or take selfies. again, the size of our van was perfect to navigate the sometimes 1 1/2 lane winding roads. Our driver was a magician! We were dropped off a stones through from the ship and our guide even shared her email address with us to share the group photo she had taken earlier with the entire Naples/ Sorrento valley behind us. Highly recommend this tour for couples, families or even a solo trip.

Driver was excellent, especially considering the tight winding crowded roads... but little commentary along the way.

We were treated to an outstanding personalized tour of the Amalfi coastline with our expert tour guide Vincenzo. The day started when we were picked up at our hotel in Salerno. We were expecting that we would be riding in a big tour bus with a bunch of other tourists but our tour guide came alone on a nice Mercedez Benz van to our surprise! We headed back towards Naples and he strategically mapped the tour route going by the coastline instead of the other way around so our tour started near Sorrento view point and proceeded towards the town of Positano, Ravello and Amalfi. He toured us to the usual touristy spots plus a few other sites and other surprise locations where few tourists would dare venture in. We couldn’t have asked for a perfect weather that day because the sun was out but not too hot, the ocean was calm and the calm breeze was blowing ever slightly. We had a brief stop in Amalfi town for about one hour and strolled through the streets during some free time and visited the Duomo di Amalfi. This 9th-century Catholic cathedral has an airy, ornate interior that holds the crypt of Saint Andrew. Then lunch at Calajanara Resto was equally impressive with breathtaking terrace overlooking the ocean while chowing down on a delish pasta and hearty salad with an order of pizza on the side. The all day tour lasted about 8 hours, as we approached Salerno, it started raining which was just in time for us to head back to the hotel and rest. Overall, the tour was outstanding and we would highly recommend booking your tour to everyone…just hope that you request for Mr. Vincenzo…the Italian from New York!

This tour was awesome. The coast was beautiful, felt very safe with our driver. The food and place they picked for lunch was also beautiful. Only thing missing was a little dessert. Wished it would have been able to stop at Poistanio but know we were on limited time.We were very happy with all of the Viator's that we booked.
