Itinerary
This is a typical itinerary for this product

Stop At: Pony Express National Historic Trail, Simpson Springs Pony Express Station, Salt Lake City, UT

The journey back to the Old West starts in Salt Lake City. Driving past the Old Downtown Station that was the central hub for the Pony Express and the Stagecoach office. Head west toward the desert. See and feel what it was like to travel the area in the old days. Feel the heat radiate upwards from the hot desert floor. Stop at various old Pony Express Stations and imagine hiding here from rogue bands of outlaws and small Indian hunting parties. Your guide on this journey has intimate knowledge of the area and personal stories that have been passed from ancestors that worked for the Pony Express. Stop at Camp Floyd, once a Civil War military fort. It is arguably the most extensive forts of the time. Some of the famous people that have passed the area are:

Horace Greely
Mark Twain (Samuel Clemmons)
Sir Richard Burton
Porter Rockwell
Bill Hickman
General (the Colonel) Albert Johnston
Next stop, Vernon, Utah. You will be driving alongside the original Pony Express Trail, making stops at places such as Look Out Pass and Simpson Springs.

At Simpson Springs you can enjoy a catered lunch. Afterward, you will start out for Dugway Pass, stopping at several old ghost towns. Using old family journals, your guide will regale you with historical stories, legends, and myths from the area. There are several areas where pony express riders ran and hid from the Native Americans. See where these battles happened and hear how that many brave warriors fought and died for their lands. This is also the same route that Jim Bridger traveled and many famous people and outlaws of the time. Next, it's off to Gold Hill. This ghost town still has a few people living here. At some point in this tour, we will usually encounter a large band of wild horses and a herd of antelope. We end this adventure in Wendover where you will have a dinner buffet. At this point, you decide to stay the night and try your hand at the Casino, or we will take you back to Salt Lake City. The entire trip is around 8 to 10 hours. The price above does not include an overnight stay at Wendover. We can add this in the price for a fee.
