About this activity
Itinerary
Early in the morning, your group will meet with your private guide in the city center of Salta and head to San Lorenzo's village via a private vehicle. During this 15 minutes road trip, enjoy the landscapes before your eyes and get to know your guide.
Duration: 15 minutes
Location: Tangol, Salta Argentina
Once at San Lorenzo, get ready to ascend to hills through the green Yungas forest (a mix of mountain jungle and Andean forests). A marked path leads you on a continuous ascent for around 2 hours. As you climb, you'll notice marked changes in the vegetation. Enjoy each new view over the Lerma Valley as you climb ever-higher.
Stop at Abra de la Cruz (known for the 1874 Abra de la Cruz Battle) where you'll have lunch with your guide and learn about this historic battle. After a well deserved break, keep going towards Abra de Sarapura, skirting the hills. Based on the time and your physical fitness, you'll continue onwards to San Lorenzo Mount. When you make it to the top, take time to appreciate the landscapes over the valley and take a few photos.
Then descend back down to a nearby villa, where the trek ends. Your guide will take you back to the center of Salta after this full day trek experience.
