Pelourinho By Night With Folkloric Show and Dinner
A cultural dive in African culture that will introduce you to the diverse manifestations of African culture in art form, coupled with a unique environment that is the Pelourinho, and a wonderful and very diverse dinner that appeals to all palates, but with that touch of Bahia food. Meet and be enchanted with Pelourinho at night!
HIGHLIGHTS:
- Dança Afro: It emerged in Brazil in the colonial period, was brought by Africans who arrived in Brazil brought from their origin countries to be enslaved.
- Capoeira: Martial art, sport, popular culture and music, all together. it was developed in Brazil by descendants of African slaves, highlighted by agile and complex strokes and movements, primarily using kicks and crouching, as well as headers, knees, elbows, solo stunts or and lots of ginga/swing (dance).
- Maculelê: a warrior ballet in which the male participants, black people, dressed in white or shirtless and with lips enlarged red, sing and dance, clashing the grimas, with the sound of drums.
- Samba-de-Roda: A variant of samba, originally from the state of Bahia, a musical style associated with a dance, which in turn is linked to capoeira. It is played by a set of tambourine, atabaque, berimbau, viola and rattle, accompanied mainly by songs and palms.
- Puxada de Rede: Fishing activity of newly freed blacks, who found in fishing a way to survive, whether in trade or for their own livelihood.
- Maracatu: musical rhythm, dance and ritual of religious syncretism originating in the state of Pernambuco, is the oldest Afro-Brazilian rhythm.
