An interesting trip with knowledgeable guides. The view from the top is breathtaking. It is worth booking an organised tour so you are ensured of a place on the special buses that take you to the top and you are not left hanging around

Thomas from panaroma travels was a really good guide with a sense of humor. Had a great time. Would recommend it to everyone.

Beautiful country for a bus ride. Most all Nazi area buildings are gone but Eagles Nest is there, served as an entertainment venue. Taken together it’s the ride plus walk through tunnel to bronze plated (jam you in) elevator. Ride up to nest and see the few rooms where entertainment happened then walk outside up to peak for a great panoramic view. If you want history, it’s limited and more do because of the strict timing applied. If you want a little sniff of history and 2 hours of Bavarian countryside beauty then go for it.

The trip up the mountain was nice and short. Once there, the views were spectacular and having time to roam around on your own is definently a plus.

Our guide was very useful and friendly, the drive was easy and we were well looked after. They do mean 'skip-the-line' we didn't queue at all to get there. Once up, we had about 45 minutes, which is plenty of time to enjoy the view if you don't faff with food. Weather dependant you'll have a great day! Don't forget your passport!

leaving at 0830 get you to the Eagles Nest early before dozens of other tour groups arrive. Beautiful Mountain views. Eagles Next does get crowded later in the day...A Must see in in Salzburg

This was an excellent tour to the eagles nest. Our guide Walter was phenomenal. He gave tons of insight on Salzburg and places passed in route to eagles nest. He also has a great sense of humor. There was plenty of time to explore at the top of the eagles nest.

I absolutely love these guys - they are soooo funny, they make the trip a hoot. The second time we took the trip (with new companions), we did not get quite as much information on the salt trade route as we did on the first trip. Unfortunately the salt mine tour does not express the importance of that history, but that is not the fault of the tour guides on this trip. We normally do not pay for tours because it is out of our budget, but the fact that we had the ride to the top, the humor, and we did not have to stand in line for an hour was well worth it. In the future, we would probably take the salt mine tour on our own by taking the train since the add-on fee was really out of our budget, but definitely will continue to take the Eagle's Nest tour with Viator because you cannot beat the nonstop laughing with the tour guides. I am always afraid we will get someone "dry", but we always get someone even funnier. : )

We had an excellent day going to the Eagles nest. First of all, the bus was waiting for us when we arrived at the Square. We were welcomed to the trip by Walter an experienced professional guide. The bus was clean, comfortable, new and has Wi-Fi. Walter was informative, knew the history was a good storyteller and kept it humorous. The buses ran like clockwork, the driver was safe. When we got to the Eagles nest we were officially move through the tunnel and up the elevator to the Eagles nest. After a brief introduction we were allowed to explore on our own views were beautiful!! On the way back, Walter went on the bus to each person and asked them if they had a good time. He shared photos with the group on the TV screens on the bus. I would do this trip again!

The best way to get there is from Salzburgh which is a relatively short journey on the coach . The other advantage is that you can get there relatively early in the morning before the crowds descend leaving the rest of the day free for other tours such as ' The Sound of Music '.Even if you have no interest in the history surrounding the Eagles Nest the views are breath taking.

Overall, the Eagles Nest itself was beautiful and the destination was a must-see. But for the money I paid, I expected to have a tour guide that would not repeat the same thing 4 times because he lacked information. The drive itself was very pretty and the location was really awesome because it had so much historical significance and was fun to walk up to the very top since there are a lot of cool rock formations/plaques to read. Not to mention how beautiful the view was. But if you go, know that there is the possibility of having a tour guide that did not know what was happening.

The Tour was very basic. Well organized, but somewhat rushed. I would have liked to have had more time at the Eagle's Nest. Believe we had about 1.5 hours, so didn't have time to sit for a snack and soak in the surroundings. The Tour Guide Walter was exceptional. He provided insightful commentary and added in a lot of humor to make the day very fun and informative.
