The boat ride was a 20 minute trip up and down the river but you don't really see anything much and it is freely available without booking the dinner and concert. The latter two were worth the money, very nice.

A fantastic evening great food, great music, and a balmy evening ....what more could you want. Excellent value for money...well worth a visit to Salzburg just for the event.

A mostly wonderful experience during the river cruise and commentary showcasing the traditional buildings on both sides of the SALZACH river. The weather was cool but comfortable. A walk through the vintage streets up to the funicular for a breathtakingly beautiful and scenic ride up the mountain. Our dinner was the least favorable portion of our experience with a meal that was luke warm at best and tasted as though it had been prepared a week before and then plated and served. The service was virtually non existent with our waitress only returning to our table to retrieve her money. We begrudgingly left a tip but felt obligated to do so. The final portion of our evening was worth the price of the entire ticket with an ensemble of eight extremely qualified string instrumentalists and one pianist who was the featured artist. The selections although not all geared to MOZART were varied and pleasing to listen to. The venue of the ancient living quarters of the Archbishop at the hilltop fortress made for a distinct and desirable environment with excellent acoustics. Even though it was raining as we walked back to our hotel the evening was comfortable and warm. It was a sky full of stars and a huge bouquet for the players even though the meal was a definite disappointment and not worth the price!!!!!

We enjoyed going to the Salzburg Fortress and enjoyed a wonderful dinner. However, when we went into the concert it had to have been 90 degrees in that room. It was cool outside but there was no ventilation in that room. At intermission, about a third of the audience had to leave as it was too uncomfortable.
