Samaná Peninsula Tour from Samaná

After convenient morning pickup from your Samaná hotel, enjoy a light continental breakfast aboard the coach. You're driven to a meeting point where you’ll hop aboard an open-air safari-style truck with your guide for the journey to Rancho Aventuras.

At the stables, receive a safety briefing and climb onto your horse for a 30-minute horseback ride inside El Limón National Park, admiring the lush mountain views as you follow your guide along the Arroyo Chico River. Reach the roaring El Limón Waterfall, cascading 165 feet (50 meters) of water into an jade-green pool below. Enjoy a leisurely amount of time here, swimming or just relaxing amid peaceful forest scenery. After your break, return your horse to the stables and head back to Samaná aboard the safari truck.

Your day trip on the Samaná Peninsula continues with a tour of the port town, formally called Santa Bárbara de Samaná. Then settle in at El Timon, a restaurant along El Malecón, the town’s boardwalk, and eat up delicious Caribbean fare at a table offering panoramic views of sparkling Samaná Bay. (Alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages are included with your buffet meal.)

Next, take a boat ride from Samaná pier to Cayo Levantado (aka Bacardi Island), one of the most oft-photographed Caribbean islands for its palm-tree-fringed, white-sand shoreline lapping against gentle waves. Indulge in down time here for about 90 minutes, enough time to snorkel, drink beer or soft drinks (included), and sprawl out on a lounge chair. Fruity cocktails such as piña coladas, banana mamas and coco locos are available for purchase.

Then, take a boat ride back to Samaná. When you disembark at the pier, your tour ends with a snack and hotel drop-off.
