About this activity
Pick up in your hotel in San Cristobal de las Casa city and transfer to Palenque City.

Enjoy the beauty of the mountain landscapes and the wonderful Agua Azul Falls. This place consists of many cataracts following one after. The larger cataracts may be as high as 6 meters (20 feet). The perfect place to make beautiful photos.

Agua Azul river descends its limestone bed in steps forming a series of stunning waterfalls that create natural pools contained by calcareous dikes, called "gours" in geological terminology. The road leading to the site where the services are located with modest counts.

The intrepid can reach, with the help of local guides, other even more spectacular waterfalls, because the staircase continues downstream until the river rushes to Tulijá forming one of the most beautiful water curtains. Its color is due to only perceptible limestone bed in dry seasons; in the rain it does not diminish the spectacle it is when the water volume increases.

You can choose between Misol Ha or Palenque Site excursion.

Misol Ha, as a result of the precipitation of a river cliff of calcareous rocks, this beautiful waterfall is approximately 30 meters high falling, forms a large pool where possible, with caution, go swimming. This refreshing and beautiful scenery is a typical example of the high rainforest of Chiapas highlands and in the middle of a rich vegetation composed of tall specimens of mahogany, sapodilla and sticks water.

Palenque Site. The name Palenque comes from Spanish and means “wood stake fence.” It is a literal translation of the Ch’ol word “otulún” which means fenced or fortified place. Located in the middle of lush vegetation, this is one of the most important ceremonial centers of the Mayan culture during the classic period. The city was named almost 200 years before the famous nearby Mayan ruins were discovered in the 18th century. We will visit the famous Temple of the Inscriptions where the tomb of Pakal was found, the Palace, and the Foliated Cross Temple and, if there is enough time, visit the museum.

Your journey finished with drop off in your Palenque Hotel.
