A Day in Wine Country: Napa and Sonoma Tour with Winery Visits and Tastings
You'll start the tour in downtown San Francisco with a guide, driver and private vehicle. As you head out of the city, you’ll discuss the historical events and agricultural peculiarities that turned two sleepy valleys into one of the world's leading wine regions. Your first stop is a small, family-run winery in the scenic Dry Creek Valley region of Sonoma Valley that feels like a throwback to the days in which the area was still dotted with small farms. Here you’ll peek into the cave and sample 5 vintages with a light bite of food as we take in panoramic views over the countryside. Your next stop is an artisanal country deli specializing in food produced locally in Napa and Sonoma to get some lunch, which you’ll purchase on your own. Choose from sandwiches and salads made from fresh, locally grown ingredients, then you’ll take them to the garden of a nearby winery where you’ll enjoy a picnic with a glass (or two) of Zinfandel wine produced from the valley's premier grape. With full stomachs and relaxed minds, you’ll head to Napa Valley for your final winery of the day, a lesser-known gem tucked into the hillside among some of the region’s most famous vineyards. After a full tour of the premises to learn about the wine-making process which pays tributes to the roots of wine-making in the region, you’ll sample 5 of their most characteristic wines. At the end of the day, you’ll head back to San Francisco, passing over the Golden Gate Bridge and arriving downtown just time for you to get a few restaurant recommendations from your guide and head out to dinner. Note: Over the course of the day, there are opportunities for guests to purchase their favorite wines. Your guide will be happy to facilitate these purchases and give you the best options for transporting them home.
