Have utilized Big Bus Tours in other cities (Nashville and Boston) and would say this was disappointing. In the past an actual guide was on board narrating and interacting with passengers. In San Francisco earbuds were supplied and an automated narrator was utilized. Felt like this experience was impersonal and repetitious. Think we'll spend the few extra dollars in the future and stick with more intimate tours.

We stayed on for a complete circuit and then went back and looked at places we were interested in. It was a warts and all tour showing the upside of San Francisco as well as a downside with the poor and homeless Thank you for that Highly recommend the tour

We wanted a tour that gave us a good idea of San Francisco, and this tour delivered. The recorded guide was very interesting and the bus took the time to ensure it matched up with the recording. We loved going over the Golden Gate, and the ability to get on or off when we wanted. We would highly recommend this tour for first-time visitors.

Picked this tour for the ability to hop on and off at leisure but that could have been a downfall. We picked up the bus halfway through it’s rounds near the Painted Ladies. We walked quite a while to try to find the pickup spot, although I had the address, there were no clear indications where the stop was located or when the next bus was expected. Luckily we met some ladies that had the app where it tracked the bus location. They were equally confused on where to pick up the bus because they had been dropped off at a different location for that stop. After the bus finally arrived, the bus driver said we may have to wait because it was full (which would have been another 20 minutes standing there. After getting a seat on the bottom level, we were able to relax. Once everyone got off at the Golden Gate stop, we were able to get a seat on top which was way more enjoyable. The tour itself was informative but this tour seemed more like public transportation than a tour (especially since no one ever checked for a ticket). It was great to get a birds eye view of things but overall just an average tour.

You just go in these bus tours because it’s a great way to see each section of San Francisco and everything the city has to offer. Bus driver knows a lot bout the city and keeps you entertained.

Stay away. Getting a Uber is even cheaper than this one. We got off at Golden Gate to get a few photos but waited for nearly one hour for the bus to come. Everyone had to scramble to get on the bus but many of them weren’t able to get on. Terrible experience, just get a Uber

Guide was corny but informative. Great way to see places in the city you couldn't or wouldn't walk to.

Saving grace for this tour is that you get a quick overview of the main attractions in this city if you are having a short stay. The buses we were on did not seem to be particularly well maintained and the air conditioning inside was either uncomfortably warm or too cold.

It was the best thing we did. We got to see areas that we wouldnt have been able to see due to our timed schedule. The bus ride was smooth, the audio was excellent and of good quality. Speaker was very informative. So glad we did it. But wish it would have had paper towels to wipe the wet seats or offer plastic rain coats due to the rain/mist.

Having never been to San Francisco before, the Big Bus Hop-on Hop-off tour was the perfect way to see the city and get a sense for the spots where we also wanted to spend more time. Awesome way to see The Golden Gate Bridge. Friendly staff, great value. I would recommend these tours when exploring any new city, or bringing friends and family in to town!

The tour and tour guide was absolutely fantastic. It was cold but well worth it. The tour stopped for a 15 minute break to allow us snacks and hot coffee, tea, and hot chocolate then onward. It was great.

Took friends visiting from out of town. Was the best way to avoid parking in the city while visiting the sites.

Same Big Bus different city, the one recommendation I would make to folks is BRING A SWEATSHIRT, San Fran was WAY colder than we were expecting in late July.

This was a good bus tour. We unfortunately wanted to hop on when there was some trouble, so we waited for more than 45 minutes until three buses came at exactly the same time--a little frustrating since we had limited time in the city. The live tour guide was terrific--engaging and clearly well-informed. The audio guide was decent. It is definitely a terrific way to see the city and I would do it again, just fingers crossed we don't wait for too long.
