About this activity

The world of experimentation is going in Sonoma County, with whiskeys being made not only from rye, corn, barley or wheat, but also oats, spelt and quinoa. Whether a new or a long time fan of spirits, this Spirits Tour will show you the dedication and skill of local distilleries in Sonoma County.

Highlights include tastings of a variety of spirits and behind the scenes tours. You’ll discover a distiller using direct-fire copper pot stills to produce his six small-batch whiskeys: a wheat whiskey, two rye whiskeys and three “West of Kentucky” bourbons to sampling apple brandy, a limited-production spirit made from local fruit; white whiskey (unaged whiskey, aka moonshine); and a soon-to-be-released grape brandy — all using non-GMO grains.
